Where is the pain?
A learning and development company, our client wanted to find out why some learners seemed to be dropping out of one of their courses. They also wanted to know how well they were living up to their passionately held belief that learning is the key to personal growth, and that growth is the key to living a more fulfilled life.
What we did about it
To find out what the learner experience was we used a combination of:
- Personal stories
- Evaluation forms
- Telephone interviews
- Evaluation days
How it worked out
We discovered two things. Firstly, that people were not dropping off the course, some were just finding it difficult to attend every session. Secondly, the company live up to their belief - having a positive impact on personal and organisational growth with personal awareness, increased confidence and understanding of others gained being significant factors in this and one of their key strengths as an organisation.
The result - they have implemented four strategic measures and several smaller operational changes.
